Angry Unclaimed Items panel for Mission/Gate of Anguish esp. Chest Drops

I spent 1500gp for a key to do a chest run off from Gate of Anguish. I got to the chest opened it and monsters blocked me from picking up my gold Ceremonial Cauldron. It's bad enough that the drops are so bad these days... It would be nice to be able to get the good ones.

This is not the first time I've lost items on a Mission because the team was defeated.

Perhaps NCSoft could be so kind as to add an unclaimed items panel for missions or at least allow you to get your chest drop ... maybe place a chest drop automatically into inventory if you have space for it.

Don't like burning 1.5 platinum to end up empty handed!

Thoughts??

Also ... maybe the chest drops should be weighted based on how much you pay for the key.

Shouldn't see too many purples when you pay 600gp and up for the elite keys.

Maybe this is already the case, but really ... way too much purple!!

Missions don't have key chests, explorable areas do.

I seem to recall a chest at the end of the Tahnnakai Temple mission... others may as well.

Anyone else recall any other missions with chests? Have you ever lost gold drops in missions?

Wasn't speaking only of chest drops. I think it would be good to have the UC Items panel for missions just like you have it for quests.

Default 1.5k might be peanuts to you...

It was only the most expensive key in the game I believe and was a gold drop ... could have been worth 30k.

I just want all my drops please ... even in missions!

You already have an Unclaimed Drops panel when you complete a [wiki]Mission[/wiki]... it's adventuring and questing (or failing missions) that you don't get one.

It's also your own problem when you die during a chest run.

I don't think you get it... Its entirely your fault for OPENING the chest in the first place when there was no certainty you could pick up what it dropped. The number of morons i've seen in FoW Chest Runs who all run to chests that obviously can't be opened without impending doom die before they could pick up the item is insane. I've only done it once... and that was because i pressed for Dodge not Dryders Defences... doesn't help with 2 Abyssal/4 Shadow Warriors wailing on you.

As for explorable areas... please for the love of god at least try and do something about it. In the 10 or so attempts at Gloom it took for us to get the 'To The Rescue' quest right we lost well over 200k worth of items between us. Including a rare Gloom Shield for me that i never got chance to pick up.

Also chest-running noobs who bring 5 groups to a chest as I stand away from it, then when they are dead I open it without getting hit. Why dont people understand patrols?

Basic game mechanics are still a mystery to some people?

hahaha, of course they do, THK has at least three Shiverpeak chests in it

Tannakai Temple defniately has two Canthan chests

Most missions have keyed chests, missions randomize just as explorable areas do as the game counts a mission as another instance

My mistake; Nightfall missions don't have chests, and they removed chests in a couple of the Factions ones due to exploits. But that's beside the point - if you're suiciding on a chest and don't get the drop, it's your loss.

Since when do Nightfall missions not have chests?

And what exploits made them remove chests from Factions missions? what update was this and when?

Look at the Gayla Hatchery mission. If you do it right, you can skirt the edges of the map and prevent all the kurzicks from spawning. As such there are no chests in that mission since it would be ridiculously easy to chest run in that.
Most missions do have chests though.

Since forever.

The May 4, 2006 update removed the Eternal Grove chests, and at some point (my memory and records are hazy on this) Gyala Hatchery's chests were removed due to the often-used caravan bug there. In those two missions you could get to chests without encountering a single enemy.

ok, but thats from one mission, there are still chests in most missions through out the game

EDIT ~ I remember the hatchery mission now... Shame they did that, they could have moved them and/or added extra enemies (of course in the Hatchery mission that wouldn't work obviously)

well, I don't know the stats for all missions, but I can assure you there are lots of chests in the Nahpui Quarter mission. Too many in my opinion.

Last week I joined a supposedly masters group for the mission. However once we started about 3 people on the team just wanted to open every chest in the mission. One guy even left the group to backtrack to all the chests he missed once a key dropped for him. He then cussed out the rest of us because we wouldn't go back and rez him.

Needless to say, we did not get masters.

Kinda wandered off topic, but the point is there are chests in missions. I can recall opening chests in Viznuah Square and Nahpui Quarter at least.

Wow under 10 replies to be called a noob and a moron, but then the person who called me a moron agreed with my point ... ugh.

I would definitely like to the the UC Items panel available for failed missions and questing.

So I have only been playing the game for a few months now ... why does that elicit name calling. Seems like the game would be stronger with a helpful community ... oh well ...

Thinking like that probaby makes me naive ...

Regards,
Naive Noob

Its funny that there is one thread asking for the Unclaimed items panel to be removed completely and this one asking for it to be added whenever you change instances or at least goto a town/outpost

Sorry, i don't have an opinion either way, i just found that amusing...

*points and walks away quietly*
